...I said I was going to post a lot about Quilt Market? Well I really thought I was going too.
See, my Dr's gave me some thyroid meds to get me through market but I was instructed to stop taking them once it was over. I haven't been taking since Sunday night and everyday I'm getting a little slower. I'm just pooped! I don't have the energy to do much more than sit. Good thing I can sit and sew. But would you believe even that tires me out!
Anyway, I'm very grateful to wonderful Shannon who has been posting a summary of our trip day by day. Take a jaunt over to her blog and read all about it.
Someday soon I'll post a few 'catch-up' pictures that I have.
Thanks for understanding.

Hot and muggy
Today was the lats day of Quilt Market in Minneapolis. The weather has been pretty nice while we've been here. But today, the day we tear everything down, it's HOT AND MUGGY! Within minutes of walking outside you're dripping with sweat. I live in Utah where it's hot and DRY- so this is torture. Thank goodness for air conditioning.
I met so many people and had a wonderful time at market. Hopefully some fun things will come out of being here in the furture. I have so many fun things to share- but I won't be home for a couple of days yet. Tomorrow we're going to visit a few local shops and then catch our flight home in the evening.
Keep your eyes open for some fun, new posts in the next week or two highlighting parts of our trip!

WHAT!?
Ok, I have been out of it for too long. Things have been hectic around here as I get ready for market. But today I was poking around at a few blogs and just happened to click on an old favorite that I haven't been able to take off of my favorite's list. Guess what?
SHE'S BACK!!
I bet you already knew this...but I didn't. And I am SO EXCITED!

What a week!
Boy have I been busy this week! Frantically sewing and quiting trying to get my new designs ready for market. I still don't know if I'm going to make it- but hopefully. The writing takes the longest for me. Luckily I woke Monday morning feeling better than I have in weeks. I'm still not 100% but I have a little bit of energy. I'm trying to use it wisely. Hope you're all sewing like crazy and enjoying SPRING wherever you are!
Have great weekend!

The Final Countdown
It's been a while hasn't it. Boy, life has just taken some crazy turns for me lately. I've recieved several emails from concerned followers (thank you) and decided I should fill everyone in on whats been going on.
Back in Jan. I was diagnosed with Thyroid cancer. While it's not the best news- it's extremely common and very treatable. First thing to do- have the thyroid removed. However, in the process of preparing for surgery I was diagnosed with a completely unrelated blood condition called ITP (Idiopathic Thrombocytopenia Pupura). Basically my body started destroying my platelets and we don't know why. We think I may have had this condition for a while and didn't even know. Anyway, before I could have my thyroid surgery I ended up needed to have my spleen out first so that I would have enough platelets and not bleed out during the thyroid surgery. So in the beginning of March I had my spleen removed. Everything went well and my recovery was normal. It just meant I had to splend a few days in the hospital. My platelet count surged and 2 weeks later I went in for my Thyroidectomy. That surgery went well also. However the thyroid messes with lots of stuff and although I was physically recovering well, I needed to stay in the hospital a few extra days while my calcium levels regulated. A week later I had another hospital stay because of my fluctuating calcium levels. 16 out of 30 days in the hospital- not fun.
Needless to say my little business has taken a back seat. Unfortunately International Quilt market is only weeks away. For any of you that have has thyroid imbalance or know someone with similar thyroid issues- not having a thyroid wreaks havoc on the body. I'm very tired and achy all the time. At some point it will get better and I'll be regulated with medication, but for now it's yucky.
I just wanted to let everyone know why there hasn't been updates lately. I'm doing lots better but all of my enegry and focus is on getting ready for Quilt Market right now. Other than designing new patterns I have a few 'secrets' I've been working on behind the scenes. If you'll be in MN for Spring Market- make sure you come by our booth an say 'HI!' For the rest of you- I hope to be back to regular posting soon.
Happy Quilting!
