OMGosh! I totally spaced picking and posting a winner yesterday. Ugh, it was a crazy day. But LATE is always better than never, right!?
I am so giddy about this winner. I randomly picked a post and GENE BLACK is the winner. He said:
"I signed up days ago. I am loving that Simple abundance jelly roll. I think the timing on this quilt along will be perfect for me to finish a top with no problems. I am sure I have some fabric that will go just perfect with the jelly roll -if I win it. Color me red and aqua for excited!"
So I am just loving this for 2 reasons:
He likes red and aqua- just like me! (and the rest of the quilting world, I'm afraid)
and he's a HE! Now who doesn't love a man that quilts!?
Well Gene, send me an email ASAP with your address so I can get this JR in the mail to you!
On a side note- I'm taking a short break. I'll be going under the knife on tues. so it may be a little bit before you hear from me. I'm thinking of starting nother Grandma's Flower Garden for my hospital stay. I just don't think I can be away from fabric for that long! See you soon.

Jelly Roll Quilt Along
A couple of days ago I posted about Moose on the Porch quilts Jelly Roll Quilt-Along. I am very excited about this. So excited in fact, that I decided to have a give-away!
This quilt-along is going to so fun! I can't wait to show my block- it's the only one that I know what it looks like. You see, the quilt-along is a surprise for me too. I find out the block patterns the same time as you do.
Are you thinking this is an awesome idea but not sure since you don't have a Jelly-Roll laying around for this project? Well let me sweeten the deal!
In an effort to share this fun experience with all of you I am encouraging you (my blog readers) to head over to Moose on the Porch Quilts and sign up for this quilt-along with me. Once you have signed up, simply leave a comment on this post telling me that you've signed up. If you already signed up a few days ago- that's ok. Just leave me a comment telling me that you did.
On saturday I will pick one lucky winner to recieve this fabulous Jelly-Roll from 'SIMPLE ABUNDANCE' by Bonnie and Camille.
Oh yeah, you heard me. A Jelly-roll----FOR YOU!!! So head on over and sign-up. I CAN'T WAIT!

FLAIR!
I've added a bit of "flair" to my blog. Did you see it? I have a new button. Well, it's not MY button. But it's a new button on my blog and I'm SO EXCITED about it!
My good friend over at 'Moose on the Porch Quilts' is starting a Jelly-Roll sampler and she's asked me to be one of the guest designers! I can't wait. Not just to design the block- but to MAKE THE QUILT!
Click on the button for all the info. if you want to join. Just grab a Jelly-Roll (or some stash-busting 2 1/2" strips) and get quilting along with the rest of us. She has several guest designers lined up and some wonderful giveaways for each leg of the process.
Oh, and it's only for a couple of months! A block every two weeks? Totally Do-Able! That means a finished 'Sampler' quilt top by Summer!? COUNT ME IN!
You'll come too, won't you? Hurry over and sign up! See you there. :o)

SHOW and TELL
I haven't been able to do a 'Show and Tell' post for a while because SOME PEOPLE aren't sending my pix of their finished projects! (yea, I'm talkin' to YOU!)
But today I do because Lindsay just sent me the cutest pictures:
Look at that cute boy all snuggled in his brand new quilt!
It's 'Diamond in the Rough' and I LOVE IT! The color palette that she used is one of my favorites. Very boy- young or old- it's perfect!
Thanks Lindsay for sharing! You'll be recieving a free COL pattern of YOUR CHOICE!
Yes folks, that's correct. If you send my pix of your COL project for "Show and tell" I'll send you a FREE pattern. So get those projects finished and send me a pic will ya'!? ' :o)

We have a winner!
Sorry for the late start this morning.
No school = sleeping in!
This is the first time I did a multiple-entry contest. The only way I figured I could do it was to write a name on a slip of paper for each entry and that's what I did. But it took a while!
Then all the folding of those little slips!
Into a box. Shake it around. Ask a cute 7 yr. old to pick one out.....
DEBI is the winner! (email me with your contact info., K?)
Thanks so much to everyone that 'plugged' my blog on theirs. The more people that hear about Crazy Old Ladies the better, right!?
Don't worry if you didn't win- It won't be too much longer before you can get the patterns on my Etsy shop. Thanks for playing!

DOUBLE BUBBLE
CONTEST CLOSED!
Check back tomorrow for the WINNER!
All right, here it is, the last of my 'newest patterns'! I absoluetly LOVE this pattern. Do any of you remember this post? Well, this is the EVA quilt "revisited". Can you imagine this pattern in EVA? It was beautiful. But it looked just like Moda's. :o) I am so happy with how it turned out using 'BLUSH' by Basic Grey. What do you think?
OK, so here's the deal. I want to have another contest. BUt I'm going to do this one a little differently than I usually do. Here's the rules:
First- You need to post on your blog about my blog and all my wonderful new patterns. ;o) This will give you one entry into the contest.
Second- If you are not already a follower to my blog, add yourself as one and get another entry into the contest.
Third- Go to Etsy and add my shop as one of your favorites and get another entry.
Lastly- come back to MY blog and leave a comment telling me all the things you did and how you're spreading the 'word' about COL patterns!
I know, lots to do, but it's worth it. The winner will recieve a packet containing one of each of the 5 new patterns!
The contest will run through Saturday, Feb. 13 and end @ midnight (Mountain time!) The winner will be announced on Monday, Feb. 15. Make sure you check back to see if you've won!

Brigham City!
I know, I know. I didn't post what I said I was going to post. But I was busy!
Thursday morning I got a call from a wonderful friend up in Brigham City, Utah. Fran, from Village Dry Goods was in a bind. Her guild was meeting on Sat. and she needed a guest and she called ME!!! See, me and Fran go WAAAAAYYY back. :o) When I was first starting my business I showed Fran and a few other girls from her shop some of our quilts- from the trunk of my car. It was a REAL trunk-show!
So this morning I woke bright and early for a 2 hour drive north to the quaint town of Brigham City. Thank goodness my BFF came with me or that would've been a boring drive! If you've never been in Brigham City, you should. It is the cutest town that sits in northern Utah and is the gateway from the Salt Lake valley to Logan, UT. Everytime we head to Logan we get to go through Brigham City and I always stop at Village Dry Goods. They have such a cute store and a great selection of fabric for EVERYONE. I always end up with several great finds from their store.
The purpose of my trip was to present a trunk-show of my quilts and patterns to the guild. I hauled 2 large totes overflowing with quilts and I never thought they'd want to see ALL of them, but they did. Thos ladies were wonderful. Afterwards I stopped into the store (how could I not?) and boy was it packed. All those ladies from he guild plus regular customers- we had those ladies cuttin' fabric like crazy. A couple of husbands even wandered in and boy were they sorry! LOL ;o) Of course I found a few "must haves", then we were off to lunch.
Fran took me to Ricardo's for the most AMAZING chicken chimichanga I have ever had. It was rather large but tasted so good. And since we sat and talked for a long while I ate all of it! Boy was I full. But not too full for Idle Isle's. Idle Isle is a hometown chocolate shop with some yummy treats. My BFF has been going there for years and insited we go. I'm glad we did. I ate chocolate's all the way home.
I gotta say, it was a fantastic day! Thanks all you ladies for making it so fun- can't wait to come up and party again soon.

Ah Choo!
So my goal to post more often has been interrupted by sickness. You know, the kind you get only a day after thinking "Hmmm, I haven't been sick in a while." Well, I have it. I think it's just a BAD cold, but it's running me down. Not feeling like doing much of anything except sit (or lie) on the couch- if you know what I mean.
I have one more new pattern to show. I hope to post on friday. Maybe I'll have enough energy to post a little extra something for you! ;o)
In the meantime- check out this post from a while back. This quilt features the fabric BOUTIQUE by Chez Moi for Moda that is in stores NOW!!!!! (Don't be shy- I swear, it's EASY!!)
