Brain fart!

Ok folks, I need you help!

I designed this quilt a few months ago and I love it! I'm in the process of making it up in my new fabric (Wahoo!!) but I can't seem to think of a good name for this pattern.

Please don't re-post this picture to pinterest or any other social media with permission. Thanks!

This prototype I made using PB&J by BasicGrey for Moda. There are millions of patterns out there with "zigzag" or "chevron" names- but this one is different.

So I decided to have a contest. Leave me a comment with your name suggestion. I'll collect ideas until the end of the week. Hopefully from all of your ideas I'll be able to pick just ONE winner. The winner will recieve a
FAT QUARTER BUNDLE of the entire 24 prints of my new collection
"TECHNICOLOR"
and or course a copy of the pattern.

Now get to work- this guy needs a name!!!

It sort of reminds me of a Herringbone pattern. Or sheaves of wheat. Either way, it looks great.

First, I have to say that I LOVE this design.

Just love it and would really like to get the pattern ! How about Corner Bricks because to me that's what it looks like.

Lisa England said...

When I first looked at it, it looked like bricks, but bent. So I thought "Brick Bender". Then I thought maybe it was bricks that were broken, and I thought of "Karate Chop". To me that seemed catchier.

I would call it "Heads or Tails" because to me it looks like arrow heads, or the feathered tail end of said arrow. Either way, I really like it.

Jennyroo said...

I love it! I haven't read any of the previous comments, so forgive me if I duplicate what someone else has suggested. It looks like the tread pattern on a car tire to me, so I suggest 'Making Tracks' or 'Trackback.' If I were to come up with something completely random, I might say 'Poppy's Revenge.' It sounds mysterious, doesn't it -- who is Poppy and what type of revenge is she exacting? Might be quite memorable for a quilt pattern! LOL! Thanks for this, it was fun.

Michele T said...

There are some really interesting names... here are my suggestions:
Strata
Stratum
Thread Tracks
Modern Tracks
Herringbone Twist

Julie said...

My first thought was "Which Way is Up?" but I see someone else beat me to that. I can see rows of geese flying in different directions so maybe "Follow the Leader" or

My first thought was that it looked like bricks from a garden path, but that sounds kind of like a more traditional pattern. But it also reminded me of that crazy zig zag street in San Francisco that also happens to be paved with brick, so I think "Lombard Street" would be a great name! (Google it if you aren't familiar with it--it's quite a sight!)

Fun pattern! Good luck picking a winner!
