I know you want some

THIS CONTEST IT NOW CLOSED!

International Quilt Market is THIS WEEK!

Things around here are nothing less than hectic.

As I was putting the finishing touches on one of the many projects for my booth I had a thought....

When was the last time I had a giveaway? And what better time for a giveaway than now?

So....are you dying to get your grubby little hands on some 'Going Coastal'?

I have a fat quarter bundle (tied with rope!) of every print in the line. And because a fat quarter was just not enough, I put a 1/2 yard each of the Bottle Cap print and the Patchwork Plaid print.

All you have to do is leave me a comment telling me WHY you LOVE this line!? (sorry, I just can't hear enough of it right now!)

I'll pick a winner next monday....after Market.

Good luck to you!

Who doesn't love the water?! Being at the beach, on a boat on a lake, relaxing to the sound of waves?

THAT's why I love this line! I can't wait to see it in person. And crazy... but a friend of a friend designed it? WOO-HOO! That's super cool.

My inner California Girl loves anything with a nautical theme - Missing La Jolla!

For me thats is a easy one to answer. The grey fabrics makes all the difference for me. Costal a really interesting and very unusual mix of colors. Especially when you have two boys :)

My granddaughter loves sea shells and crabs and water. This would make a wonderful quilt for her.

I like it because it's not th same as everything else out there, and because my house is coastal!! :D

I love the water. The colors in this collection remind me of days on the lake.

I grew up in Cali and miss the beach and all things coastal. Coming out of a very cold and snowy winter and spring in Utah, this fabric would cheer me right up!

I got 3 of 4 quilts finished for my kids for christmas...and now here it is May and my soon to be 5 year old still hasn't been made a quilt! This line would be perfect for him. Pick me and please Help ease my mom guilt :)
I love the colors and that plaid...Just reminds me of fun in the sand!

Natalie said...

I have a sister getting married in august and her new last name will be Crabb. What a better gift than a beautiful quilt with your adorable crabs on it!! Also, they will be living in California. Double bonus!

Kristen said...

Oh, you know I want some! I grew up with a house at the New Jersey shore, and then spent all of my time in Maryland near the water, but now I live in landlocked southwestern Virginia, where, when we see a boat trailer, wonder, "where the heck are they going to put THAT?" This fabric line makes me homesick for those cool ocean breezes and hot steamed blue crabs drenched in Old Bay. I SWEAR that our beach blanket - which always smelled of salt water and cedar shed, and had at least a bucketfull of sand in it no matter how many times you shook it out - looked just like one of the patchwork plaid prints. I would LOVE this bundle, even though I'm not sure what I would do with it. What a challenge it would be even to cut it up!

Cheryl said...

I grew up going the upper in Michigan and spending hours at Lake Michigan. Although it is a "lake" and not an ocean, the feelings on the beach are the same. I love the colors and can think of a wonderful picnic blanket I could make with it. I do not have a blog and my email is ctrau48@gmail.com

Thanks,
Cheryl

I love the Going Coastal fabric because it reminds me of the first time I ever saw the ocean three years ago in Washington and Oregon (so beautiful!) and again last summer in Florida. I'm a mid-west girl and we just don't have anything like it here. I was in awe.
Also, the plaid just makes me happy!

Alyssa Grace said...

I love "Going Coastal" for three reasons.
The line is actually beachy and screams "road trip!" where as most lines are cheesy and cheap looking.
Secondly, the colors! This line reminds me so much of my grandma because she was a beach/road trip lover and she would always wear these colors. This line is definitely not old lady though ;)
And finally, those sand-dollar prints! They really are a versitile looking fabric...I can see each color in SOOOOOO many quilts!!!!!

Congrats! It's a beautiful, nautical line! And the rope tie is a great touch!!!

OMG, I love this line - "Going Coastal" is probably the closest I'll actually get to the coast this year - and I live for the beach!!! Living in Upstate NY near no water is tough....winning this fq pack will make it a bit more tolerable this summer!

Geraldine said...

Having grown up being at the beach in New England, I moved 16 years ago to inland Atlanta. Now I am in East Coast Florida and I NEED a beach blanket!!! These fabrics are perfect!! The madras plaid reminds me of the preppy clothes we wore and the bottle caps remind me of the snack shacks on the beach! The bottle caps design is one that I do not think many designers would think of - you really have to be a beach bum to recognize this!!

smileynann said...

I TOTALLY love this line -- and I've never really been to the coast! :) My favorite has to be the sea kelp... although I also love the bottle caps... and the sand dollar...

That fabric would be fantastic to remind me that eventually summer will get here- or at least somewhere. This has been a very cold damp winter-spring here in Seattle, and some days sunny fabrics are the only color in my day! Plus the crabs are adorable.

I really like this line. I like the color palate. I can't think of another line that has that sort of palate. The plaid and the bottle caps are particular favorites of mine.

When I was wee, my family would go to the gulf every year to vacation in the summer. There was this well loved quilt that was always our beach blanket. If I won this giveaway I would use it to make a special beach blanket quilt for my family.

Have fun at the show, your fabric looks fabulous.

Oh my goodness, this line is perfect!!! I am in the process of trying to turn my craft room into a "Cape Cod" room. I want the light, airiness of being on Cape Cod beach.

I love the blues and greens. I may pick a hue out of the fabric for my wall color! Think I might even make myself some Patchwork curtains for this room.

Thank you very much for this opportunity. Peggy.

I live on a Lake right beside the local yacht club. My husband isi a sailor and has been greatly involved in the construction of a new clubhouse. Your fabric is perfect for a quilt for the club and for that matter for many items around my house; curtains, pillows, quilt, potholders, an apron for Michael's (husband) birthday and the list goes on and on. I have been searching for gender neutral beach inspired fabric forever and I have found it in yours - it's a winner - CONGRATULATIONS, I wish you much success with the line.

I grew up with my toes in salty water, and this reminds me of my beachcombing times. The bottlecaps make me think of all the little "tableaux" we made in the sand, out of shells, stones and small things found on the beach.

Oh my! Only one reason why I love this line? Let's see, I'm a coastal girl, married to a boy from Maryland. Those crabs are perfect for him and the sea stars are perfect for me. And we collect bottle caps. It's like you made the line just for us!!

Nikki said...

Yay! a fabric collection that I could make something for my eldest boy out of.

We go to a wee cottage on the north east coast of Scotland every chance we can and both my boys spend the entire time searching for crabs on the rocks.

Letterpress said...

I think you're on to something here! When I lived on the East Coast, I once found a little lonely fat quarter in the bottom of the bin--but nothing else. I live in Southern California, and again, there is nothing to represent us. Nothing, that is, until now.

While I love it all--the dots (of course), the stars and the kelp (so Northern California!) and those fabulous bottle caps--the grays remind me of our days at the shore. It's the color of the beach just after the sun sets and we're waiting for the traffic to clear so we can go home. We're picking up our beach chairs, shaking out the towels, fighting the gulls for our trash so we can throw it away. We sit on our coolers, soaking up the last of our day at the beach.

I'm heading over to my quilty blog right now to write about it--kudos to you for such a strong collection. (And I hope your cancer is in remission!)

I absolutely love this collection. I've been in a bit of a funk lately- a lot of drama in my life and I kind of lost my love for everything, including fabric (very unlike me). This is the first line that has made me smile- and I haven't had much to smile about lately.

I love this line cause I have boys and this line is perfect for them especially the plaid.

Love it! I think I'm going to use it for the next Moose on the Porch quilt along...

I was blog hopping when I ended up here. So glad that I did and amazingly enough you're having a giveaway (and it doesn't involve me dancing naked around an oak tree at midnight on the full moon in the third quarter while chanting your blog name.) Thank you.

I've been planning a quilt and looking for the perfect beachy fabric for it. Yours fits the bill splendidly. I'll probably add some stripes too but it'll be beautiful. I'll be on the look out for your fun fabric.

Thanks again for the giveaway. I've got my fingers crossed and will be dreaming away.

(My word verification is 'lubity'. lol)

I just love the colors - and the title is the best!
Especially for all of us that don't live at the coast...
Now when things are getting tough, I just say "I am going coastal! See ya!". And maybe soon, that could mean for me: disappearing under a quilt made from your fabric collection!!!

Thanks so much!

I found out about your fabric line on the Michael Miller website-Blog and I adore it. I'm so excited to use it for a quilt for my sister who loves the beach. Thanks for sharing!

I've done my sewing sanctuary in a beach-type theme and just absolutely love blue! I could find so many uses for this fabric, just thinking about it gets my creative juices flowing! Since I don't live anywhere near a beach I have to bring the beach to me and this fabric would help me do the trick!

Oh my gosh, I love your fabrics!! I am a beach person, well, my whole family is. We like to surf and play at the Oregon coast every weekend, and our house is decorated very beachy. Your fabric will fit right in. The crabs are fantastic! Great job putting this line together :)

I love this line because of the gray! And I need a picnic blanket to take to the beach for picnics while watching the sunset!

I love that the fabric is not too busy, the single graphic for each fabric is far more effective than trying to cram too much in. I especially love the sea kelp.

Becca said...

LOVE this line! There was nothing "boyish" out when I was making a quilt for my son that would still work for him when he was a teen so I had a really tough time coming up with something....how I wish this line had been around then. I see Boy's nursery or bedroom written all over it!

Ok, so I just left a comment and blogger said it was saved but I don't see it on the list anywhere so I'll say it again, I love your fabric. It reminds me of the beach of course, which is always a good thing. Thanks for sharing it with us, and I hope you have a good time at market.

The patchwork plaid is my favorite, but I love the whole bundle! I think it's the contrast between the white and blues that make the whole line so crisp. And the crabs... perfect!

I loved on the coast of New England (RI and Maine) for the first 40 years of my life. I have lived on the the coast of Lake Champlain for quite a while now and I really miss the ocean coast. Fortunately I do get to the coast occasionally. Your fabric really captures the ocean feel (I can almost smell it!)

My nephew just told me that he wants me to make him a pair of shorts--but only with really cool fabric :) Your line is, according to him (and me), really cool! I also have yet to make him a quilt, and he is a beach loving kid! This is the perfect fabric for a ton of awesome projects! I can't wait to see it in stores :)

I so love your new line of fabric Emily because:
- I'm a water baby - Aquarius
- every vacation has to be near water
- I live on a lake
- the colors fit right into my coastal decorated home
- I'm your biggest fan and so happy you designed a line of fabric.
Hope Market is awesome for you!
