2009 CONTEST!

okay people, I'm a little disappointed (sniff, sniff). I didn't get as many comments as I thought I would.
But did get a few contest ideas. I also got several other ideas from local friends of mine. But I have to say, Kelli's last minute comment made me laugh and got me thinking of all my crazy sewing ideas.
So, with that,
Kelli is our contest-contest winner!
(Please email me with your contact info.)
Now for the REAL contest rules:
Leave a comment telling us the craziest thing you've ever sewn/quilted etc. The contest ends on Jan. 31. The prize is one of our not-yet-released patterns and kit to go with.
All right you crazy quilter's let me hear it!

CONTEST?

Ok. Christmas is right around the corner.
January is coming up quick.
The economy... let's not talk about it.
All of these are reasons why we, the quilter's of the world, have begun to scale back our trips to the quilt shop, and deprive ourselves of one of the most glorious things in life:
NEW stuff!
So, since we're all trying to be sensible and "prioritize" our needs and our wants,
I'm going to do my part and GIVE someone some
NEW STUFF!
I have to be honest though. I have no idea what kind of contest to do. I've read a ton of blogs, and there are lots of great ones. But none that I feel "crazy" enough for us.
Therefore, this contest is going to have 2 parts and 2 winners!
Winner #1 will be the person who gives me the best idea for a contest.
Winner #2 will be the person who actually wins the contest.
What is the prize you may ask?
The winners will each recieve hand picked quilt kit and a not-yet-released "CrazyOldLadies" pattern.
Ok, so you're going to have to trust me
that it's going to be worth it.
C'mon, look at our stuff. Cute, right!?
Leave your ideas in the comment section of this post through the end of the year (12/31/08). The the real contest will run through the month of Jan.
I'll post the winner of the "idea" portion when I post the "constest" rules the first week of Jan.
Can't wait to hear your ideas!

Baby Boom

Okay, these little beauties are part of our "Two Hour, Tops!" line. A group of quilt tops that take roughly 2 hours to make. Can I just tell you how fast these whip up, but they still look like a million bucks. Plus, who doesn't know someone expecting a new little baby. These precious bundles make the perfect (and easiest) gift. Besides, who doesn't like a 2-in-1!

Heart Attack!

I found these beautiful reds and pinks at Village Dry Goods in Brigham City, UT (thanks ladies!) and knew I had to design a new quilt for lovey dovey day! Since valentine fabrics are on their way to quilt shops this month (can you believe it!?) I thought I'd better get this posted for all to see!

A little late!

We love our "Which Witch?" pattern so much, we just want to use it all year long! So, we changed the pattern to include the added template for this cute Christmas Elf. I should have posted this a month ago when we did it, but I didn't have a good picture on my computer. Anyhow, here it is! Hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

No Comments! (sniff, sniff)

For some reason, I never get any comments. I'm trying to figure out why this is. I think it's because there are already no comments so bloggers don't feel like they can leave one. But guess what? I LOVE comments. Please, let me know what you think. I would love to hear from any and all of you! Thanks. Can't wait to read from you soon.

Fabric Grab!

I am so excited about a couple new grabs. My awesome friend Shasta at Gracie Lou's http://www.gracielousquiltshoppe.com/ parted again with some of her stash from market. I love Lila Tueller's new line Soire'e (available next spring). It is beautiful! Already I have 2 fabulous designs that are going to be a MUST HAVE for spring! Here's a peak at what the fabric looks like, but I didn't get jelly-rolls, I got FAT QUARTERS! But that's not all!!!

She also parted with her FQ pack of Arcadia. Can I just tell you, this fabric is beautiful. And the cool thing is that it works in any quilt. Don't you hate trying to find nice fabric for a masculine quilt that doesn't have cowboys on it? Well this fabric is perfect. My picture doesn't do it justice, but you can get an idea. Again, already 2 patterns (almost 3, just tweaking it a little) ready to ship before this fabric even hits the shelves. I promise, you're going to want these patterns!

Here they come!

My brain is bursting with new ideas. In the past 3 days I've thought of about 8 new patterns. It's so funny how that happens. I can go a couple of weeks with only a possible idea here and there, usually they're not good enough to even jot down on paper. Then, the exact opposite can happen, like right now. Sometimes I'm just doing my daily chores around the house and BAM! I better find some paper quick 'cuz I just got a good one. All I can say is maybe a couple of these never make it to the sewing machine, but most of them look promising. The coolest part...NEW PATTERNS for you! Keep your eyes open, they're just around the corner.

NEPTUNE!

Quilt Market has come and gone. So many shops asked us if we were going to be there. Unfortunately the rules and regulations require that we be in business for at least a year. Since we barely got our start in April, we couldn't go. I was so bummed. I hated missing out on that sneak peak of all the fabulous fabric to come next year.

But GUESS WHAT!?

Thanks to an awesome friend who has been a huge catalyst in getting us going with these patterns, I was able to score NEPTUNE by TULA PINK for Moda. Here's a little glance. If you haven't seen it, you should check it out. I absolutely LOVE IT! And because I just can't stand to let it sit I've already designed 3 Patterns from this fabric!
You better keep checking back, I'll be posting pictures as soon as they're quilted!
(p.s. I'm working on scoring more 'sample spree' fabric....I'll keep you posted)

Which Witch?

It hardly seems like that time of year already, but halloween fabric is on the shelf now. Be one of the first to show off this darling design so visitors to your haunted house know that the witch is in!

Stacks of Three

If you're in the mood to stitch but don't want to start another project that will keep you tied up in thread for months, this project is for you. This quilt is one of our "Two Hour Tops" you can have finished in an afternoon.

Surf Shop

Now you don't have to live at the beach to enjoy surfing. This quilt is fun for kids of all ages 2 mo. to 80. Pick out your favorite fabrics and get stitchin' on this easy pattern. If the surf's not up and there's a skater in your life, switch out the prints for more manly tones and make a skateboard quilt.

Ladybug Picnic

This ladybug quilt was inspired by a cute bit I remember hearing on Sesame Street as a kid. There was a little song about 12 ladybugs going "...to the ladybug picnic." The bright summer colors and the lazy ladybugs invite you to take this quilt on a picnic of your own.
