All is well!

Sorry I haven't posted. My surgery went really well- I was home the next day. Path results weren't great but it was just as I expected. Waiting to see the next step in the whole plan.

As for Christmas- I survived...barely. My kids were so excited to go to bed on Christmas Eve. I was very surprised because I thought I was going to have a fight on my hands. They all went to bed great. Then, a couple hours later my two oldest (Boys, 8 yrs and 10 yrs) started coming in every 15-20mins because they "couldn't sleep". UGH! I wish I could get them to understand that every time they get out of bed it sets them back and if they would just stay laying down with their eyes closed EVENTUALLY they would fall asleep. No such luck. Finally, at 2:30am my 8 yr old has a MAJOR breakdown. Screaming and crying because he knows Santa won't come until he falls asleep but he CAN'T! Wore him out and he finally fell asleep. But in the meantime woke my little 5yr old girl. ARGH! Slept with her for a while in her bed just to get her to sleep. Finally my husband woke me up at 4:30 to tell me Santa had come. And because he's a kid at heart and couldn't contain his own excitement decided to wake all the kids (even though I just BARELY got them to sleep) and have Christmas morning at 5am. We had planned on 7! Oh well. The kids were happy and it was a nice morning but I'm still re-living Christmas Eve and cringing. Ugh, NEVER AGAIN!

So, how was your Holiday?

I'm going to try and get back to my regular posting but I have a few MAJOR deadlines coming up so I'll do my best!

I'm going to release the Valentine countdown pattern soon and will list it on my Etsy as soon as I do so everyone has a chance to get it and have time to make it before Valentine's Day! :o)

Minor Setback

I'm going in for another surgery this morning. A few weeks ago the Dr's found a couple of lymphnodes of questionable nature. I opted to have them taken out rather than risk the chance of leaving them alone. And since I've been in the hospital enough this year to meet my out-of-pocket max I decided to squeeze this one in before the end of the year.

So if you don't hear from me for about a week, you know why.

I hope all of your Holiday prep is going well. Sew a little for me, will ya!? :o)

Laughter is the best medicine

We recently took family pictures and this shop was snapped without my knowledge. I LOVE IT! It is real. It is genuine. And it makes me smile when I see it. :o)

One more little change

Although I really liked the other logo and it was the crowd favorite (by a small margin) it was just too SQUARE. I know, I know, I designed it that way. And I really liked it. But, well, I like this one BETTER. ;o)

What do you think?

A Season of Giving

A few weeks ago I was contacted by a young woman and asked if I might assist in a project she was starting. As I read about this project I knew right away that I wanted to be a part of it. It's called the Children's Charity Quilt Project. Please take a moment to click on the link and read about this wonderful idea. And, if you're in the giving mood this season, please contact Tiffany with your donations.

Thank You.

G'day Mate!

I am SO EXCITED!!! As a designer sometimes you get AMAZING opportunities that you have to keep hush-hush until just the right moment. (squeel!) It's the right moment!

Several months ago I was contacted by the wonderful people at Australian Homespun Magazine and asked to submit a pattern for their December issue. I couldn't even believe it. ME!? And now the day is here and the magazine is on the stand....in AUSTRALIA! :o)

The quilt I designed is not shown on the cover- but my name is! You can see a little pic of my quilt here. It's called 'Fun in the Sun' and I used the 'Make Life' fabric line by Sweetwater for Moda.

I can't wait to get my issue of the mag.! This magazine is a great one to have. Those ladies down under sure know how to quilt. And their attention to detail is impecable! If you're looking for this magazine here in states and can't find it nearby you can order it from Erica's. (It takes a month or so before we get them here in states so when you're looking it's issue 11-12)

*p.s.- You could probably find it on the web and order it directly from Australia too. But I have no idea what that will cost! :o)

Super Deal!

Everyone loves a super deal, right!? Well my friend Margie over at Ribbon Candy Quilt Company has one going on right now!

She has designed a quiet book called ON TH FARM and is offering the KIT on her Etsy shop. To sweeten the deal for a limited time she is offering the pattern FREE when you order the kit.

DO you have a crafty friend or family member? This is a GREAT gift item for them. The kit comes with everything you see here and with the pattern thrown in for FREE that's a savings of $9! You can't beat that.

Hurry over to her Etsy shop because these babies are going fast!

Change is GOOD!

I felt like it was time for something new. The poll on the new logo design was a close race with the SQUARE logo coming in slightly ahead of the CIRCLE logo. I decided to go ahead and post the square as the new title (although I made a few minor changes). I like it....for now :o)

So, are you super busy getting ready for the holidays? I am. I feel like I barely pull it together for Thanksgiving and then it's full steam on through the New Year. I'm burning the midnight oil trying to get a couple patterns released by the end of the month. It's going to be close. But one is the much anticipated Valentine Countdown pattern. Still working on a name for this one. I have "COUNTING ON CHRISTMAS" for the Christmas one and "CREEPY COUNTDOWN" for the Halloween one. Any ideas on what the Valentine one should be?

Leave me a comment with your ideas and if i pick yours I'll send you the pattern! :o)
